Clark Squires
International Business Consultant | Founder, Clark Squires & Associates
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Clark Squires is an international business consultant whose interests bring together business development, hospitality, emerging technologies, and the preservation of history.
Through Clark Squires & Associates, he works to connect people, ideas, and opportunities, with a focus on projects that can create lasting value for businesses and communities.
Clark’s approach begins with a practical question: how can a promising idea become a workable project? His interests include identifying opportunities, bringing potential partners together, exploring development strategies, and helping communicate a project’s purpose to investors and collaborators. He values relationships, clear communication, and a shared understanding of what a project aims to achieve.
Business & Development Interests
His business interests span hotels and resorts, health and wellness communities, innovative building systems, vertical farming, and emerging energy opportunities. Across these areas, he is interested in how new approaches can respond to changing needs for accommodation, housing, food production, and sustainable development.
The Squires Collection
A particular focus is The Squires Collection, a developing concept for health, wellness, and longevity hotels, resorts, and communities.
The vision brings together hospitality, well-being, recreation, and opportunities for meaningful social connection. Clark is interested in working with investors, developers, operators, and other partners to explore how this concept could take shape in suitable locations.
His broader development interests include fast-build and panelized construction systems, plastic-to-energy technologies, new energy sources, and controlled-environment agriculture. He is also interested in training and education projects that help people gain practical skills for employment and support the needs of growing industries.
Newfoundland History & Writing
Alongside his business work, Clark has a deep personal commitment to Newfoundland’s history, culture, and people.

God Guard Thee Newfoundland
Two Hundred Years of Catastrophes, Tragedies and Resilience
Clark’s book project explores the events that have shaped the island and the strength of the communities that endured them. Its subjects include maritime disasters, aviation history, wartime experiences, fires, storms, and moments of courage and compassion.
For Clark, this work is also a way of preserving the character of Newfoundland: its resourcefulness, humour, generosity, and enduring sense of belonging. He seeks to tell these stories with dignity, careful research, and respect for the people and communities involved.
My Life, My Family, My Legacy
His family memoir, My Life, My Family, My Legacy, takes a more personal path through childhood memories, family relationships, and the experiences he wishes to preserve for future generations. It includes recollections of growing up in Newfoundland and stories connected to his parents, grandparents, and extended family.
Clark’s interest in preserving the past also extends to his personal collection of Newfoundland stamps, coins, photographs, and historical memorabilia. His collecting began at age eight, when a neighbour gave him three Newfoundland stamps. These objects have become another way to connect family memories with the island’s wider history.
Documentaries & Media
Clark is also interested in developing documentaries and streaming video productions that bring his books, historical research, and selected development projects to wider audiences.
He sees opportunities to collaborate with producers, filmmakers, broadcasters, and streaming platforms to tell compelling Newfoundland stories and communicate the ideas behind business and community initiatives.
Whether through a book, a documentary, or a business proposal, his aim is to make an idea clear, engaging, and meaningful to the people who can help bring it forward.
Family & Newfoundland Roots
Family remains central to Clark’s life. He and his wife, Christine, have shared more than four decades of marriage, and his role as a father and grandfather gives particular meaning to his efforts to preserve family stories and build something of lasting value.
Despite his international business interests, Clark remains closely connected to his Newfoundland roots. A walk on Signal Hill, a drive along Water Street and the St. John’s waterfront, or a meal of fish and chips reflects the simple pleasures of a place that continues to inspire him.
Through Clark Squires & Associates, his writing, and his developing documentary interests, Clark brings together a practical interest in the future and a lasting respect for the past—guided by family, relationships, and the strength, dignity, and enduring spirit of Newfoundland.
Best regards,
